“I’ve played a gay character: Batman”, says George Clooney

Star George Clooney stated in an interview that Batman is gay. The actor played the superhero in 1997.
"I wore a leotard with rubber nipples. I could have played a straight Batman, but I made him gay", defended the actor.
According to the Dailly Star newspaper, there have been debates about the hero's sexuality since 1954 when psychiatrist Frederic Weartham called Bruce Wayne's relationship with Dick Grayson, aka Robin, into question.
