It seems that the example of Michael Sam encouraged other LGBT athletes to come out of the closet. This Thursday (14) the college football player Edward Chip Sarafin revealed to the world that he is gay.
He is the first active athlete in major college football to publicly reveal his homosexuality.

"It was really personal for me and it left me with a clear conscience," Chip told Arizona magazine, about sports and the LGBT universe.
Upon learning of Sarafin's attitude, Michael Sam congratulated the young player's courage. "Congratulations Chip Sarafin for having the courage to be yourself. I wish you and your teammates success this season," he wrote.

Sam came out as homosexual shortly after leaving college sports and entering the official NFL league.
