John Travolta wins dispute against author who claims to have seen him in gay saunas

Rumors about his sexuality John Travolta have been a recurring topic in recent times.

After all, it wasn't enough that his former driver, Doug Gotterba, said that kept an affair with the star, with the right to photo, and accusations of sexual abuse by a group of massage therapists, the star of Saturday Night Fever, Hairspray, Pulp Fiction and the most recent Savages I was dealing with the book You'll Never Spa in This Town Again.

The book, written by Robert Randolph, it's worth remembering, reveals details of the star's supposed secret gay life... in saunas. In the book and in a 2010 interview for the website Gawker, Randolph declares that he personally saw Travolta rocking the steam – and gives details of the star's alleged gay relationships, including with Randolph himself, in Los Angeles saunas. Breath, right?

Of course everything was duly denied. John Travolta's lawyer, Marty Singer, sent a long letter to the website where the article was published denying everything and saying that Robert Randolph suffered from "mental problems" and had spent time in institutions to deal with the problem, according to information from The Hollywood Reporter. The author of the book then sued the lawyer and the actor for defamation, since, according to him, they both acted to tarnish his reputation and induce the public not to buy his book.

The result of the action has just been released – and it was in favor of John Travolta and Singer, represented by lawyer Lynda Goldman. Judge Malcolm Macky, of the Los Angeles Superior Court, dismissed the action on Thursday (27), claiming that Singer's letter was the legitimate subject of a legal dispute over the book and was therefore protected by the First Amendment of the American Constitution, that protects freedom of expression. Furthermore, according to Judge Macky, Robert Randolph provided no evidence that the lawyer's letter harmed sales of his book.
