Tyler reveals that on one of their first dates, Michael said that people don't see him as someone who has all the feelings. And it was there that he himself made a self-criticism about the prejudiced views that he had thrown at the suitor.

"There is a preconceived notion that people who work in this industry only care about sex, in the most extreme form, and that they live a life consumed with drinking, drugs and endless parties with naked men, having orgies 24 hours a day and without the real ability to of loving someone outside the bedroom", he explained.

To his surprise, Michael doesn't drink, doesn't use drugs and doesn't even like loud music. "We spend our time ordering Thai food, going to the gym and watching movies. He usually talks to his 93-year-old grandmother at least three times a day and always asks me how I am. His ability to connect emotionally is unparalleled and our moments most intimate experiences were unique."

"Porn without a condom is sexier," says Michael Lucas

Tyler claims that the relationship he has is healthy and that Michael is affectionate, kind and makes him laugh like no one else. Even so, notes and doubts are frequent. "I have to deal with judgments like 'You can't really fall in love with him' or 'Be careful, you might catch something'... For me, these statements are less about my relationship with Michael and more an illustration of how People are focused on the wrong things."

The journalist states that the fact of being HIV positive was also not an obstacle for his loved one. "He is not without the ability to develop an important relationship. He was not bothered by my HIV status, he supports my recovery." The journalist continues: "We live in a culture so fixated on the sexual aspect that we forget to see people as people."
