18-year-old man is stoned to death for being gay in Somalia

This week, 18-year-old Mohamed Ali Baashi was stoned to death for being gay in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

According to information from the "Gay Star News" website, Baashi was buried in the ground up to his chest and attacked by several stones. The Al Shabaab group, linked to Al-Queda, was responsible for the barbarity.

Accused of sodomy, that is, performing a sexual act with another man, the young man had the worst punishment compared to that of another man, accused of committing murder. The criminal was tried and shot.

According to the country's laws, homosexuality deserves greater punishment than any act considered "illegal", such as homicide.

Images of the young man's stoning were posted on the "Somalia Gay Community" Facebook page. To view, click here.
