Young man vents about being rejected by his mother for being gay and goes viral on the web

Although in recent years the LGBT community has gained some rights, today recognized by laws such as the right to union and adoption of children, the reality of these people within their own homes continues to be one of rejection in most cases. There are many reasons, but religious issues almost always speak louder when a mother or father supports a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender child. Last Sunday, the 24th, young Henrique Silva, born in Manaus, capital of Amazonas, moved his friends on a social network with an outburst about being rejected by his mother, who, because of her religion, did not know how to accept his homosexuality and ended up cutting him out of her life. “More than 2 months without my mother speaking to me. I'm going to be 100% honest with you who are friends with your mother, I'm very jealous. My mother is prohibited from talking to me because I am gay, because of her religion. And that hurts me a lot. Today I found out that she blocked me for good and cut off all contact with me. But for her, this is God’s will”, wrote Henrique. In the post, the young man showed a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation, which shows messages he sent to his mother. At the top, you can see that the woman has blocked him from the contact list on the instant messaging application. The post went viral on social media and, at the time of publishing this article, it has already received more than 34 thousand likes and 23 thousand shares. With the repercussion, Henrique Silva once again updated his profile talking about the proportions of the subject on the web. “Despite everything, I don’t feel well. I don't feel light. My intention was never to expose or hurt anyone with my post. My intention was to show how heartbroken I was at the moment,” he wrote. “I have literally received thousands of messages of support and continue to do so. The post went viral and everything took on proportions that I didn't even imagine possible. But I am getting pressure from family members to delete the post,” he continued. “I would like to thank everyone who sent positive energy, everyone who told their story. And I'm still responding to everyone. I gained several mothers and brothers across the country. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! 'Everything will be fine, and these wounds will heal”, concluded Henrique, quoting an excerpt from the song “Indestructível”, by drag queen Pabllo Vittar.
