How far does the anger of a mother who does not accept her daughter's homosexuality reach? A 20-year-old girl, from the city of Cariacica, in Espírito Santo, was attacked by her own mother-in-law on the night of last Sunday (28).
According to Rafaela Zeni, the attacker discovered the relationship she was having with her 15-year-old daughter 3 months ago. The mother-in-law showed up at Rafaela's house accompanied by her son, who is a military police officer, to corner and torture the victim. The young woman had her hair cut, a broken tooth and injuries to her mouth, in addition to being threatened with death.
"She came to my house, broke everything, took money, tore my clothes, got everything wet. The clothes I have are the ones on my back, which were in my backpack. She took the chip from my cell phone and must be calling and threatening everyone my family", said Rafaela.
After destroying the young woman's house, the mother attacked the girl. "She threw me into the car and told me to stay quiet. She said that if I tried to run, she would shoot me in the back. She and the policeman's son sat next to me. She took the scissors, told me to put my head down, cut my hair and punched me in the mouth. She said that if I went to the police or spoke to anyone, she would kill me," the victim reported.
The young woman went to the Campo Grande police station, in Cariacica, accompanied by her mother, to file a complaint. "I don't think that's fair. She threatened us. She said that if we came to the police, she would kill my daughter. She said we could be arrested, but it would put half the world after us. We are hardworking, we don't It's a slut. Today, we lost a day of work to be here after this. It's very unfair", said Cirlene Helena Zeni dos Santos, Rafaela's mother, who works as a general services assistant.
