The decision by federal judge Waldemar Cláudio de Carvalho, on Friday the 15th, maintained the entire text of Resolution 01/99, but sets a precedent for professionals who claim to be “capable” of reversing someone else's sexual orientation. The CFP also said that the magistrate's interpretation represents an obstacle to confronting violence and prejudice against the LGBT population, and that it also means “a violation of human rights and has no scientific basis”.
