La Paz holds its 1st Gay Parade

In an unprecedented act, the gay community of La Paz, Bolivia, took to the streets to fight for their rights. The demonstration, which had 150 people and 2 floats, covered the main streets of the city.

Later, a party was held in a well-known bar and Ely I was crowned the 1st Pride Queen of La Paz. The event organizer, Francisco Romero Cota, stated that the idea is for people to understand sexuality and different sexual preferences .

The event aroused the curiosity of hundreds of people. During the Gay Parade, pamphlets were distributed with basic information about AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.
