The singer Lana Del Rey announced this Thursday (21), on Instagram, that he will release his newest (and seventh) studio album on September 5th of this year.

In the same post, the sad pop diva caused a stir with a text in which she defends herself against the frequent accusations she receives from feminists online of “glamorizing abuse”.

“A question for the culture: now that Doja Cat, Ariana, Camila [Cabello], Cardi B, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé have reached the top of the charts singing about being sexy, being naked, having sex, cheating, etc. – can I go back to singing about appreciating one’s body, feeling beautiful because I’m in love, even if it’s an imperfect relationship, dancing for money, or whatever, without being crucified and accused of glamorizing abuse?” he wrote.

“I'm tired of female journalists and alternative singers saying that I glamorize abuse, when in fact I'm just a glamorous person who sings about the realities of abusive relationships – which as we're realizing now, are very prevalent in society,” she continued.

“With all the topics that female artists can now explore, I just want to say that over the past ten years, it's kind of pathetic that my detailed lyrical exploration of my sometimes submissive or passive role in relationships has made people say I'm delaying female independence.”
