Leonardo Miggiorin says gays didn't like Roni's affectation

Being successful as Roni in "Insensato Coração", Leonardo Miggiorin said he did not hesitate in accepting the role for fear of being marked by a gay character.

"I even heard that some actors refused this test. They were afraid of being marked, I don't know. Look, I'm 29 years old and I know that my profession is high risk. Anything can go from very right to very wrong. It's a job done of choices", declared the actor to the Terra portal.

Leonardo also revealed that at first even the gays themselves didn't like Roni's affectation. "There was even, at the beginning, a comment that sounded like a complaint that it would be caricatured. The gays themselves complained. We already know that gay people don't need to be affected, but I think it's important to show that they can be too. That's not a problem And it's hypocritical to criticize a character like that. If soap operas reflect society, they need to represent different types. And there are many gays like Roni on the streets", argues Miggiorin.

The actor's character has been a constant target of the homophobic Cléber, played by Cássio Gabus Mendes, who never tires of insulting the promoter. "Roni has a kind of opening function, starting the discussion about sexual diversity. And reaching more serious issues, such as homophobia", concludes Miggiorin.

In the next chapters it will be Eduardo's turn, played by Rodrigo Andrade, to come out of the closet. In recent scenes, the character found himself looking differently at a hot guy at the gym and also carefully observed a gay couple in a bar.
