A survey carried out by Match Group LatAm – a company that manages some dating apps – revealed some data regarding the behavior of homosexual men and women, as well as bisexuals. The study interviewed more than 5.200 people and showed that 48% of homosexual and bisexual people in the country have difficulty starting a serious relationship. Furthermore, 76% of lesbians have difficulty in having a relationship with another woman if she is bi, while among gay men, 66% say they are not bothered by this. According to the company, the Brazilian states with the largest number of singles are: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Bahia. Regarding the most used means of finding a potential partner, the smartphone is by far the most used. When asked about expectations for a future relationship, 87% are looking for someone who will be a companion at all times. Furthermore, Brazilians also say that what attracts them most on a first date are: kindness and politeness (51%), while common interests come in second place with 24%. Singles over 50 believe they are in the best phase to start a new relationship. According to the survey, 55% of those interviewed consider it easier to find a new love at this stage of life because people are already more mature. Furthermore, singles in this age group do not care about age issues and would start a relationship with someone younger, according to 78% of them. “At this stage of life, people are more sure of what they want and what they expect in a new relationship.
