After the Family Statute – which aims to recognize "family" only as a union between a man and a woman, excluding LGBT couples and other formations – was approved by a special committee of deputies in the Chamber, several internet users decided to speak out. And show that, yes, their families exist.

Among the most popular posts is that of Vanderlei Fernandes next to her husband Arnaldo Batista and his son, who refute the deputy's speech Takayama (PSC-PR).
At the meeting, the politician said: "Man and man do not generate. Woman and woman do not generate." And the couple held a sign with the phrase: "We don't generate, but we create, educate and love." The couple's son also holds a sign with the hashtag #SomosUmaFamiliaSim.

Even before the project was voted on, the #OurFamíliaExiste campaign took place in Brazil, showing that a family is also one that is established through bonds of love, coexistence, respect and care, and not just that model considered traditional and which aims to exclude the right of several other families being recognized as such. It is worth mentioning that four highlights of the project still need to be voted on by the commission.
