JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter phenomenon, which sold 450 million copies throughout the entire saga, decided to invest in adult books.
This past Thursday (27) she released “The Casual Vacancy”, her first book aimed at older children (not that Harry Potter wasn't also).
The story takes place in the fictional town of Pagford and begins with the unexpected death of a councilor from the small town, called Barry Fairweather.
Among the plots of the work is the case of a mother who is shocked when her daughter comes out as a lesbian. The author addresses other controversial topics, such as racism, politics and sexual abuse.
The publisher Nova Fronteira has already announced the Portuguese version of the book, which will be released in the first week of December.
