Book tells the story of the first organized gay fans in Brazil

Brazilian football was not always just a place for homophobia. Between 1977 and 1983, Grêmio's Coligay existed, which is considered the first organized gay fan base in Brazil and will have its history immortalized in book form.
"It's the most important story of diversity in Brazilian football. I think it's a good time to discuss homophobia and racism. It's something little explored until now," said Léo Gerchmann, author of the book "Coligay – Grêmio, the Tricolor of all the colors", to Redação SporTV.

He also said that he was highly praised by Grêmio's board of directors, especially by the vice-president of marketing, Beto Carvalho. "I'm very proud that 95% of people praise, with 5% being rude. I don't see it as a controversy. If the person has a different sexual orientation, which is happy", he concluded, who is heterosexual.
