At 38 years old, Cristiano was attacked by three men with stones and beatings after leaving a bar. He was rescued, but he succumbed to his injuries and died on the 10th.

"He went to Club Nacional and then to a bar. Three men started arguing and the bar owner threw them out. And it was there that they started attacking my son with materials that were in the building next door", he recalls. .

The mother believes that the crime was motivated by homophobia, since Cristiano was an open homosexual. "Regardless of whether he is (gay), this is his right. It does not justify an individual taking the life of another human being. I can no longer live properly," she lamented.
