Some of the hateful messages received by the Pierce family matriarch criticize the fact that she supported her son after he told her about his homosexuality. “All you had to do to keep him alive was stop him from telling everyone [about his sexual orientation], but you don't know what fucking world you live in,” said one user. When responding to one of her executioners, Leia declared that the man, who goes by the name George Ioan, “is the kind of person who needs love in his heart”. “I hope you find some of the love my son left here for us to share. I'm sorry you're full of hate and I hope someone hugs you. And if no one told you today, you are amazing. Stay blessed. My son and I will pray for you,” she concluded, as she lovingly responded to some of the hateful messages she is receiving.
