An open homosexual and considered one of the most renowned authors on Brazilian television, with several successful and award-winning productions, Walcyr Carrasco continues to commit a terrible sin and, often, doing a disservice to the LGBT community (of which he is a part): transforming characters gays into heterosexuals. Although he was responsible for televising the first gay kiss on Brazilian television, in the soap opera “Amor à Vida”, in its current 21pm episode, “O Outro Lado do Paraíso”, Carrasco created two emblematic characters who, from the beginning of the story, has been causing a buzz on social media. Samuel (Eriberto Leão), a closeted gay man who always led a false straight life, and had an affair with Cido (Rafael Zulu) who also had a heterosexual relationship. Between comings and goings and controversial scenes of Samuel wearing women's clothes, the author decided to transform the characters, until then homosexuals, into heterosexuals, according to information from the UOL portal. The gay couple will break up after a night of relapse, and the psychiatrist will discover that he never needed tricks or trickery to have sex with Suzy (Ellen Rocche). The Quilombo Mother (Zezé Motta) will reveal that she only prescribed a common tea to the doctor and will explain that he really loves the nurse who is his daughter's mother.
