He stated that the character is the most "different from anything he has ever done" and that it was the professional challenge he wanted to have. "Carlos has conflicts. His sexuality was dormant, he is in the closet. He never gave importance to what he felt. He got married, had a son and, perhaps to hide his feelings, he focused on sport. Now, with his son grown up, he found himself free, wants to be free."
