After a gay couple appeared on the cover of an issue of Spider-Man, comic book publisher Marvel announced that it will launch a special edition of the X-men character, Polar Star (photo).
For those who don't know, Estrelar Polar is a kind of gay activist with superpowers. Out, the hero always talks about how proud he is to be homosexual. In the mutant stories, he is in love with Gambit. Another interesting fact is that the story's screenwriter, Jim McCann, is openly gay.
Marvel executives said that if the special edition with Polar Star is a sales success, there is a possibility that the hero will receive his own publication. In Brazil, the person who publishes the X-men stories is the publisher Panini.
