Jair Bolsonaro is a Brazilian politician affiliated with the Social Christian Party, who is serving his sixth term in the Chamber of Deputies and is a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.
Internationally known for his statements sexist, homophobic and radical, such as defending the military dictatorship – he is a retired soldier.
In short, he is a controversial figure.
One of the biggest threats to LGBT community in Brazil, since he publicly condemns homosexuality, as we reported about his interview with Ellen Page.
He is strongly opposed to laws that guarantee rights to LGBTs and has even chaired the Human Rights Commission, difficult times for Brazilian minorities.
So far, nothing new, right?
The new and curious fact (to say the least) is that a page already brings together around 2 thousand people who declare themselves homosexual and would vote for Bolsonaro.
The page: "I'm Homosexual and I'm going to vote for Bolsonaro", is proof that there is a portion of the gay community that doesn't care about the struggle of the LGBT community and that yes, there are conservative gays.
After all, how can a gay person support someone who makes the following statement: “Their son starts to become like this, a bit gay, gets beaten up and his behavior changes. Look, I see a lot of people out there saying: I'm glad I got spanked, my father taught me how to be a man. We need to act.”
