Matheus Mazzafera accuses YouTube of practicing veiled homophobia

YouTuber Matheus Mazzafera opened up about the homophobia he suffers from the YouTube platform, during an interview with journalist Leo Dias.

“My relationship with YouTube was good, but it is becoming difficult […] Since I opened my channel, I have suffered veiled and, at times, open homophobia on the YouTube platform. I don't get the support from them that my straight friends do. My videos monetize less and I have constant problems when there is another gay person besides me in the video,” she began.

Matheus also remembered a video he made with Pabllo Vittar, and according to him the interview was marked as unsuitable for minors.

“I remember that two years ago, before Pabllo Vittar broke out, I made a video with her, and it was blocked for a couple of days, because the YouTube machine saw it as inappropriate, because it had a drag figure,” he revealed.

He also revealed that content made with straight couples gains monetization privileges.

“I have several couple challenge videos on the channel, which are monetized, but I have one with a gay couple, which is demonetized. For what reason? I experience homophobia on the YouTube platform daily. If I were a straight man I would have privileges”, he concluded.
