“I was surprised by the acceptance”: Walcyr Carrasco comments on the success of the gay couple in “Amor à Vida”

Walcyr Carrasco is pleased with his debut on Globo’s prime time show. With the last chapter of "Amor à Vida", which will be shown this Friday (31), the author took stock of the plot he wrote over 8 months.

"My characteristic as an author is to be flexible, to enjoy new challenges. Over the course of such a long novel, the characters become friends. (…) Suddenly, everyone leaves, and I become depressed, with a feeling of loss, in mourning", said Walcyr.

The author, who now intends to rest a lot, will take a "vow of silence" and is already looking for a monastery to spend a few days.

"I would like to spend some time without speaking, in absolute silence, reflecting on the paths of my life. I have already located the monastery. I want to know the routine of the monks, pray with them early in the morning, participate in cleaning and more humble work, which will do me good psychologically after all this vibration of fame, which is very good, but sometimes it takes us away from reality", he said in an interview with Globo.

About what everyone wants to know, the "gay kiss", Walcyr talks and gives no clues. There are rumors that the scene between Félix (Mateus Solano) and Niko (Thiago Fragoso) has already been recorded. However, it is up to TV Globo to decide whether or not to air it.

Still, the author comments that he was surprised by the couple's acceptance. "I was surprised by their acceptance. Even because Félix is a villain, but loved by the public", he concluded.

While the last chapter is not shown, nothing else is being said on social media. A campaign, with the hashtag #beijafelix, is already trending on Twitter and Facebook. Will the gay kiss finally happen this time?
