Look how cool this article on the website is. The globe, It's great to see that little by little the gender stereotype is changing, it wasn't long ago and the singer/owner of the world/diva Adele was caught walking with her son who was wearing an outfit from the film Frozen, commonly associated with girls because it is a story about princesses.

In a post on Facebook, with the suggestive title "How a superheroine is born", which already collects more than 3.600 shares, Renata says that she had to deal with the reaction of some people, who found the party strange ("a boy thing", they said).

— For us, when she asked for the birthday party Iron Man, It was a good surprise because it was a return to what we had been working on with her for a long time — says Renata, who is from Pará, but lives with her family in Rio. — When she was 2 years old, she came back from school one day talking about "things about boy" and "girl things". Then I realized that I would have to start discussing this with her, in games, on a daily basis, much sooner than I thought. Children hear adults making these types of separations from an early age, so they are often not given the chance to enjoy other things.

The family quickly embraced the idea of throwing a party with superhero decorations, but Renata says that many people were a little unresponsive to Marina's choice.

— Upon arriving at the party, some parents clearly showed a look of astonishment. But then they understood, you could see that the initial strangeness was not because they thought it was wrong, but because they had never thought about that possibility.

The strangeness actually started long before the party itself. When she took the girl to a store to buy her birthday present, Marina immediately ran to the "boys' section." The saleswoman said, upon seeing the scene, that the child was in the wrong section.

To help raise awareness among all party guests, the family produced the book "What can I do then?!?", which tells the story of "Super Marina". It was distributed as a souvenir at the end of the celebration and can be accessed here.

NEXT PARTY: QUEEN OF HEARTS

But where did the passion for Iron Man come from? Renata says that her daughter is enchanted by characters who "save the day", who rescue people. The girl never watched much cartoons or films with this superhero specifically, but, one fine day, she came to the conclusion that "he was the strongest, so he had a better chance of rescuing people", remembers her mother. And, for her 5th birthday, Marina already has her chosen theme: the Queen of Hearts.

— We even asked her "But don't you want Alice to be the main one at the party?" She said no, because it is the Queen of Hearts who fights and cuts off the heads. She doesn't really like characters that seem fragile — says Renata.

This girl's openness to interests considered "unfeminine" opened the way, says the mother, and allowed her little friends to also express "unusual" preferences for toys, parties, etc. And, especially after the Iron Man party, many parents showed gratitude to Renata.

— We were surprised by the repercussion and very happy too. It shows how much this still needs to be discussed. It should already be natural — she laments. — This party undoubtedly had a greater purpose for our family.
