Gay and straight boys “invade” lesbian night at Ultra Diesel on Carnival Saturday

Last Saturday's Ultra Diesel program was aimed at reveling girls. The venue hosted the Super Dyke project, with DJing by Nina Lopes, editor of the lesbian website Dykerama, and DJ Cris Vilela. The nightclub, however, received a fairly large audience of boys.

Almost the majority of the boys present were gay. Some were heterosexual. In the line in front of the house at one in the morning, boys and girls drank alcoholic drinks. One of the boys and a girl, upon seeing two girls – jeans, blouses, lipstick, earrings and straightened hair – asked if they were "preppy". "Wow, you guys look sick," said the young man.

The scene makes us think about the segmentation of lesbian parties – such as the itinerant Tetê-à-Tetê and Só Para Elas, which takes place in Bubu, not to mention the recently opened The L Club, which charge more for boys to enter. The price to enter the city's exclusively lesbian club, in the Pinheiros neighborhood, is R$300.

After the line to enter the house and be searched, there was a line to get the command. Cris Vilela's set was marked by pop (Rihana), funk (Boladona and Atoladinha) and of course, traditional tribal house. Those present, boys and girls, danced. Frantically.

Nina Lopes took over the pick-up playing a remix of Madonna's 4 Minutes. The program also included the participation of the Arco-Íris Samba School, but until 2:30 in the morning, the time when the report left the house, there was no sign that the GLS School would perform.
