“My children won’t turn gay!” says Edir Macedo on his blog about the anti-homophobia kit

Bishop Edir Macedo made a post on your blog against the anti-homophobia booklets that the Ministry of Education will distribute in the country's schools in the second semester.

"Imagine this scene: Your child arrives at school for another day of learning, and, in the middle of the classroom, the teacher starts a new lesson which involves discussing a video in which two lesbian girls talk about how good it is to be homosexual. And more: in the textbooks, the teacher reads, with her son, stories with gay families, stories of bisexual men and women, transsexuals and transvestites", says the beginning of the text.

The bishop says that what should serve to combat discrimination becomes "explicit propaganda of homosexuality". "The Word of God and the UCKG (Universal Church of the Kingdom of God) teach us that we must accept homosexuals, but never, ever, homosexuality!"

Edir Macedo is the founder of the Universal Church, which has more than 2 million believers around the world, and is also the owner of TV Record.

"My children will not become gay! It is mine, ONLY MINE, the right not to want a gay son! May the Holy Spirit touch our authorities, so that they put an end to this aberration", prophesies the bishop on his blog.

The curious thing is that Edir Macedo does not sign the post and attributes it to an "anonymous worker".

Investigation
In 2009, Edir Macedo and nine other people were investigated by the São Paulo Public Ministry (MP) for money laundering and conspiracy.

In March, the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) unanimously decided that the MP cannot request access to data on the breach of banking secrecy of church leaders.

According to information from the newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo”, this type of criminal action must be processed in the Federal Court, which has now begun to investigate the case.
