Ministry of Labor will promote courses to reduce prejudice

In order to reduce discrimination against minorities (blacks, homosexuals and disabled people), the Ministry of Labor and Employment will promote educational workshops aimed at Regional Labor Offices, students, businesspeople, NGOs and social movements. According to the Ministry's advisors, opportunities in the job market should be for everyone, regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation or religion. The initiative arose after reports of around a thousand cases of discrimination in the workplace, in 2006 alone. The course will begin in December in the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Acre and Ceará.
