French model will be Playboy's first transgender “playmate”

Onwards and forwards, little by little transgender people are gaining their rightful spaces and recognition in society. Although there is still a lot to be done, the market is already recognizing the letter T in the LGBT acronym. French model Ines Rau, 26, will be the first transgender woman to have a nude photo on a double page in the famous Playboy magazine. The beauty had already posed for the publication in 2014. “The beauty of all women deserves to be celebrated,” said Ines, in an interview with the Thomson Reuters Foundation. The model was chosen by the magazine's creator, Hugh Hefner, shortly before he died. To Thomson, Rau revealed that Hugh said he was “very proud” of her. She reinforced the businessman's commitment to civil rights and support for diversity.
