“Radical change”: says director Sergio Di Pietro about the new Disponivel.com

The gay dating site Available.com it has a new look. Therefore, we had a chat with the director of the company Infonet Business, Sergio Di Pietro, who also manages the website The Cape.

"We invested almost R$1 million in this new website and mobile platforms with new navigation architecture, new technical structure and completely new design", confides Pietro.

"I believe it is a big paradigm shift for our users and we hope to achieve a single objective: improving the experience of the 800 people who use the site", he adds.

In the interview, which you can see below, it is possible to have more details about this major change, which occurred after 10 years of activities, with a great legacy created in this period.

Diponivel.com has just launched the beta version of the new website, what can the public expect from it?
We have been working on this project for two years, the change is radical. We changed everything from technology to logo to navigation mode. It has new functions such as "showing interest in a date", a new, more dynamic chat system with video, and the most interesting thing is that the site has become more objective and focused, it is easier to navigate, as all the functions are better organized.

How has the response been with the site's customers?
We created a list of beta testers (users who will test the initial functioning of a system), and we are gradually inviting them to more assertive tests. We already have 4 users using the new website and we will gradually transfer 800 by November. So far we have had few bugs [technical problems] and excellent comments from users. We delayed the release to ensure as few errors as possible.

There was a great revolution in the layout…
Yes, our users will now learn a new way to use the site, everything has been done to be intuitive. There are several references to the way of doing it on the old website, but it is completely different. We kept the colors, but it is much cleaner and more organized.

Tell us a little about the work carried out for such a big change.
Before producing the layout, we hired a company that took care of usability, it has large projects in its portfolio, such as Bradesco and Itaú, and determined how the website should be used, in which areas and several other new functions. Then, the other stage was the layout until arriving at technological creation from scratch. It really is a revolution.

So there were changes from a technical point of view as well?
Yes, the site turned 10 years old in 2013, so it was necessary to adopt a new programming language, more current, modern, robust and capable of allowing it to grow and adopt new development standards. It was made from scratch by a much larger and more structured team.

After this big change to the website, what’s next?
We are now focusing on finishing the iPhone and iPad apps with an internal team and parallel to the website, in addition to version 2 of the Android app and the new mobile version. There's still a lot more news to come.
