Munich: the charming German city that you cannot miss!

Munich is a city that awakens the appetite for life in those who live in or visit the city. The pleasures offered by the city are many; from beer, parties, recipes that use potatoes as the main ingredient and lots of fresh air. After all, green takes over the city. Trees and more trees spread everywhere.

Around 6 million tourists walk along the historic streets, some of which are still made of stone, every year. In addition to the attractions of the former colony, gays even go to the 854-year-old city to explore the discoveries of the traditionalist and Catholic capital of Bavaria. There aren't many tall, modern buildings there, like those in big cities. Some of the buildings and houses, destroyed in the Second World War, are still under renovation, however, in the same architecture as in the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, at least on the outside, as inside the presence of modernity can be seen.

With past and present intertwined, the city has a menu full of new things for its visitors.

GIRO
As Munich was a land of kings, there are many palaces to be visited. One of the most beautiful is King Ludwig II's Linderhof Palace. This one had a very mysterious life. Stories reveal that the king was gay, as well as crazy, for always wanting to isolate himself from the world. In his residence, on the first floor, more precisely in the dining room, a table was raised by cables to the second floor, in the king's private room. There he ate his meals without being disturbed. The palace is very visited by the gay community.

Another option is to sit in the city's most popular square, Marien Platz. This square has numerous stalls and spots to enjoy Bavarian beer. The tables are crowded, from the early hours of the day until the evening. The glasses, super generous, look more like a blender because they are so big. Germans don't seem to eat much during "bier zeit", beer time. And if you like German beer, try renting a beer bike. The size of a mini van, this vehicle is suitable for a group of friends. Sitting around a counter, each person pedals, and at the same time, tastes "liquidfood" – liquid food – or, if you prefer, beer. It's very funny and a great exercise, I mean, cycling is a great physical exercise. It's a two-hour stroll through the city's gardens, accompanied by a sober tour guide.

If you prefer, book a regular bicycle and go see the main points of central Munich. The city offers several cycle paths. If you are walking, pay attention to the markings on the sidewalk, which signal pedestrians and cyclists. Another option is to rent a "segway" – a type of motorized motorcycle/bicycle, with two wheels on the left and right. This type of transport is a good option to save energy for nightlife. It costs on average 80 euros per day.

Be sure to check out the Hofbrauhaus, known worldwide, this brewery is huge and attracts tourists and residents at any time of the day or night. There you can watch performances by typical Bavarian musical groups.

NIGHT
For dinner go to Moro Restaurante. Totally gay, the atmosphere offers unusual drinks and a diverse menu, as well as the traditional Bavarian dessert, Lai Sen Schmarrn – a pancake mix with sweet syrups and whipped cream. The place has Brazilian bartender Saulo Correia, the 1.81 m tall brunette knows how to prepare delicious drinks like no one else.

The hottest nightclub in Munich is called NY Club. The name lives up to the famous phrase: "New York never sleeps". And he doesn't even sleep. The recently reopened bar has two dance floors, a bar and gogoboys. Inside the club there is a labyrinth, completely without light. DJs rule the night and a lot of blue eyes shine their lights on the dance floor.

Don't go to Bau, even if your guide book recommends it. The place is small and empty.

GRABING POINTS
Sauna Deutsche Eiche: located behind the Gärtnerplatzviertel hotel restaurant. Other tips are cinemas/theaters, which Germans use to arrange meetings, rain or shine.

WHERE TO STAY
The four-star Platzl hotel offers a gym, sauna, hot tub and a chic restaurant, with a mouth-watering menu. From the outside, the imposing architecture reveals the good services offered. The place is in a trendy area, close to the city hall and the most famous brewery of all time – Hofbrauhaus. Another option is the friendly Deutsche Eiche hotel, which offers free internet. This is located in another lively area called Gärtnerplatzviertel.
