Anyone who followed the series "Os Normais" on television will be disappointed with the new film by the duo Rui (Luiz Fernando Guimarães) and Vani (Fernanda Torres). In "The Normals 2 – The Craziest Night Ever", the couple, in crisis, goes in search of a partner for a threesome. The idea is great and could make for a good laugh, but all you see is a parade of clichés and obvious jokes. Clever humor turned to slapstick.
After being off TV for so long, Rui and Vani have aged – in every way. They let their chemistry weaken and lost rhythm. Not even the participation of Cláudia Raia, Danielle Winits, Alinne Moraes and Daniele Suzuki convinces. But of course not everything is bad in "The Normals 2". There are good moments, especially when the protagonist couple meet a French woman (Mayanna Neiva) and, without understanding a single word, believe that she is inviting them to have the long-awaited threesome.
Given the success of the series on Globo and the first film, from 2003, which in its opening week alone was seen by more than 420 thousand people, this sequel sounds naive and opportunistic. Anyone who is a fan should stay away from the cinemas.
