New season of “Amor & Sexo” will have a campaign against homophobia

With the end of "O Astro", Globo premieres new seasons of series and programs from its second line of shows this week, which airs after 23pm.

Next Thursday (03), Fernanda Lima is back with the fourth season of "Amor & Sexo". With the intention of further advancing the issue of different sexual orientations, gays once again have space in the program.

If in previous seasons the topic was approached with the misleading "Gay.me" framework, which only reinforced stereotypes, this time the issue will be treated in a more serious manner.

"The program is a political space. We are going to talk about all Brazilian sexual orientations and identities. We have already come a long way with the recognition of civil unions. The next step is to criminalize homophobia. 'Amor & Sexo' remains funny, but brings up more serious issues ", said Ricardo Waddington, director of the attraction, during the press conference for the fourth season.

At the press conference itself, Ricardo was wearing a t-shirt with the words "No", saying no to homophobic attacks. "We can all say no. Put an end to this senseless violence," declared Waddington.

Ricardo says that despite the seriousness of the topic, everything will be treated lightly. "It's an entertainment program. It will always treat issues lightly. But that doesn't mean it won't go deeper," he said.

Among the new features of the new season is a trip the program took to Japan, to see how the country deals with sexuality. "We have clear differences in behavior. For them, sexuality is only discussed within four walls. The Japanese find it extremely intimate to talk about sex", said Fernanda Lima.
