The first gay wedding in the English royal family takes place!

Royal family's first gay wedding

Last weekend, a milestone in the history of the English royal family took place, the first same-sex marriage. Lord Ivar Mountbatten, who is a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, married James Coyle, making it the first gay marriage in the royal family.

Walked down the aisle by his ex-wife, the wedding was held to the sound of a gospel choir and took place in a private chapel within a family property in the county of Devon. Around 60 guests were there, but no members of the royal family attended the wedding. According to Lord, family members' schedules are organized months in advance and that's why they were unable to attend.

The repercussion of the wedding took place all over the world and some artists, celebrities, writers and members of other royal families spoke out in support.
