“The objective is to show the human side of love”, says Nathalia Timberg about lesbian characters

Everyone has their fingers crossed that the lesbian characters played by Natalia Timberg e Fernanda Montenegro in Babilônia are another of the milestones of Brazilian television in favor of the LGBT community.

And, if it depends on the actresses, "the human side of love" will be shown and will serve as an example.

During the launch party for the program "Grandes Atores", on Tuesday night (13), which took place at the Lagoa show house, in Rio de Janeiro, Nathalia spoke about the characters who have been together for 40 years.

"It's already a solid relationship, but they're crazy about having faced a whole era of deprivation and censorship together and we'll see where they'll get to. I don't yet know what direction these characters will take. The soap opera is an open and is subject to everything," he said.

The artist says that everyone is free and that love, despite being "trivialized and vulgarized", is a "beautiful thing". "It doesn't matter if it's between people of the same sex or different sexes. Our goal is to show people the human side of love and not this current love where people have decided to take their beds to the newspapers."

It is worth remembering that in the novel by Gilberto Braga, João Ximenes Braga e Ricardo Linhares, the characters Estela and Tereza have been married for 40 years and share the house with their son, a character in Chay Suede.
