Lesbian organization declares that it is impossible to have dialogue with Damares Alves

This month the future minister Damares Alves held a meeting with LGBT representatives which did not convince all the organizations that are part of the community. The Brazilian Lesbian League (LBL) was one of the organizations that were not satisfied with the negotiations.

The group released an open letter to society, describing what they believe and support in the current scenario. According to the charter, the organization's principles are “pluralism, autonomy, self-determination and freedom, democracy, solidarity; transparency; horizontality; the defense of the secular State; the defense of feminist principles and their flags; lesbian and bisexual visibility; the anti-racist and anti-capitalist struggle and the fight against the most diverse forms of LGBTphobia”.
