Organizers announce official date for the 23rd LGBTI Pride Parade in Rio

Grupo Arco-Íris announced this Monday (20), the date on which the 23rd edition of the LGBTI Pride Parade in Rio de Janeiro will be held. The traditional event that colors the streets of Copacabana is scheduled to take place on September 30th. As with the São Paulo March, the organizers focused on the October elections and this year they will take to the streets with the theme “Vote for ideas, not people. Vote for those who are committed to LGBTI causes.” The theme, according to the group, serves to awaken more engagement and participation in the LGBTI community in this political moment, choosing candidates who are committed to causes and struggles for respect and diversity. “Our rights, our citizenship and especially our lives depend on the choices we make at the polls” say the Parade organizers.
