Orkut: homophobic community against Ferruccio is taken down

In addition to being attacked by three homophobes who left his face disfigured, young student Ferruccio Silvestro, 19, recently had to endure the creation of a community on Orkut, attacking him morally. The boy “won” from some cowards hiding behind fake profiles on the “Ferruccio should have been beaten more” forum. Fortunately the community has already been deleted.

In fact, the community ceased to exist one day after delegate Antenor Martins Junior, from the Computer Crime Repression Police Station (DRCI) sent a letter to Google, ordering its removal from the air. Around 233 people made homophobic comments against the boy. For the delegate, the community's creators advocated crime, violating articles 286 and 287 of the Penal Code.

According to information from the newspaper O Globo, Google's press office was unable to confirm with its legal department whether the company took the community offline or whether this was done by its creators. In a statement, Google reported that it has sought to collaborate with the courts to curb and remove cases of illegal use of Orkut, which it considers rare.

Valério Aguiar, Ferruccio's lawyer, reported the case to the state Public Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday.

Among the topics discussed in the community were: "kill them all", "the bullies have my support", "what would you use to hit him?" and "did they just knock?"

The community photo displayed an image of the boy's black eye next to a coat of arms with a skull wrapped in chains and skewered by a sword, which reads the initials HDB – Men of Good.
