The Eternals, a Marvel film that premieres in November this year, will be the first to have a scene with a gay kiss.

The character Phastos, played by the actor Brian Tiree Henry (photo above), will be in a relationship with another man.

Confirmation was made by Haaz Sleiman, gay and Muslim actor, who will play Phastos' husband. He said in an interview with the website Logo that the characters even have children and kiss in one scene.

“It was a beautiful and touching kiss. Everyone cried on set,” said Sleiman. “For me, it’s really important to show how full of love and beautiful a queer family can be.”

The Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao and is centered on the race of immortal aliens that gives the film its name. They have secretly lived on Earth for more than seven thousand years and, in the film's plot, they will face a threat to humanity.
