“Gays think that every gay has to be good”, says Aguinaldo Silva

The author Aguinaldo Silva is ready for his next 21pm soap opera, which is scheduled to premiere in 2018.

In an interview with the newspaper Extras, he said that his plot will have a gay villain. The character will be the villain's assistant, a perfumer who manufactures essences.

"This will provoke controversy because gays think that all gays have to be good and that's not the case, right? Before gender, they are people. This is independent of sexual orientation," he said.

His last plot on Globo was "Império", which ended last year. Silva also wrote other recent plots such as "Fina Estampa" (2011), and is the author of the most watched soap opera of the last decade, "Senhora do Destino" (2004).

And you, what do you think about the author’s statement?
