Oscar: Elton John thanks husband and children in moving speech

Elton John He won the Oscar for best original song of his career in the early hours of this Monday (10), also becoming the only member of the LGBT community to be recognized at the awards.

The singer-songwriter won the statuette for “I'm Gonna Love Me Again” (listen to it below) with Bernie Taupin, a song created for John's biopic, Rocketman (2019)

In his speech, the English singer thanked his husband, David Furnish, and the couple's two sons, Zachary and Elijah. “David, I love you so much,” John said, emotionally. “To my beautiful boys watching this from Sydney, how I love you. Daddy loves you.” Watch the speech below:

“I'm Gonna Love Me Again” was composed with Taupin, John's historic lyricist partner on many of his anthological songs. For Rocketman, the British singer sings it with Taron Egerton, the actor who plays him in the film.
