Father Beto, who defended homosexuals, is excommunicated by the Catholic Church

Known as Father Beto, Roberto Francisco Daniel caught the attention of the Catholic Church after publishing a video on the internet (see below) where he defends, in addition to homosexuals, bisexual love and also states that there can be fidelity in extramarital relationships.

Such positions by Father Beto led the Diocese of Bauru (interior of São Paulo), where he was a missionary, to announce the excommunication of the priest. In other words, from now on Father Beto is no longer part of the religious community, so he cannot perform his functions as a Catholic leader.

In a statement, the Diosces of Bauru states that the priest "in the name of freedom of expression, betrayed his commitment to fidelity to the Church which he swore to serve on the day of his priestly ordination" and that these acts "caused a strong scandal and hurt communion ecclesiastical".

In an interview, Father Beto stated that he was already waiting for the church's decision and that he feels calm about being on the side of "human beings, development and freedom of expression".
