The parents of a 10-year-old boy became an example for the LGBT community in Argentina. All because they recognized that their then daughter is actually a transsexual man, reported the newspaper El Comercio.

The story of the relationship between parents and their son Look changed when the child, who was registered as a girl, started saying he was a boy. One day after returning from vacation, he said: "The stork was wrong. I'm a boy."

The mother Barbara says he followed his son's next steps because he knew how much he suffered and how much he could suffer. And then, he had the support of a specialized lawyer to continue the fight for identity.

At the age of 10, Facha obtained this Wednesday (29) the right to change her civil registration, including rectifying her sex.

The president of the Argentine Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transsexuals, Esteban Paulón stated that the decision should be celebrated. After all, most of the time the gender transition process only happens during adolescence, when hormones begin to manifest themselves, causing great suffering.

He states that the visibility of Facha's case could lead other families to think about the possibility and choose to accompany their son in the process instead of having hostile behavior towards trans people.

It is worth remembering that in Argentina there is a law called Gender Identity, which allows anyone — without the need for medical treatment, surgery or psychiatric expertise — to change gender and name on documents, through a simple administrative procedure.
