“A winning country is a country without homophobia. No more deaths!”: SP Gay Parade announces this year’s theme

The 18th edition of the São Paulo Gay Parade already has a defined theme: "A winning country is a country without homophobia. No more deaths!".

With the choice, the demonstration aims to draw attention to the recent cases of homophobia that have occurred in the city.

In response to the petition that asked for the choice of the topic in support of the proposed João Nery Law, the Associação da Parada de SP (APGLBT) stated that since last year there has been a consensus for the phrase to focus on the criminalization of conduct that attacks, discriminates and take the lives of so many gays, lesbians, transvestites, transsexuals and bisexuals in Brazil.

Edition of the Parade, however, we are committed to seeking subsidies from the City Hall and State Government so that we have a trio to make visible the "João Nery Law" project, which is seeking approval.

APOGLBT also said that it is committed to seeking subsidies from the City Hall and State Government so that we have a trio to publicize the João Nery Law that is seeking approval.
