Copacabana Parade reaches its 20th edition and will have the Marcha das Mulheres Negras as an ally

This Sunday (15), Copacabana will become smaller with the 20th LGBT Pride Parade in Rio de Janeiro.

with the motto "Words Hurt, Violence Kills", the event aims to bring together thousands of people on the Copacabana waterfront to demand an end to violence against lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transgender people.

The LGBT Pride gathering will begin at 13pm at post 6 from Copacabana. However, from 9 am the public will have a series of services offered free of charge on site.

It is the 'Action, Pride and Citizenship', which will include vaccination against Hepatitis B, and the distribution of more than 400 condoms. It will also be possible to take rapid HIV tests. Furthermore, during the action, the Manpower Company and the Olympic Committee will register lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals to fill job vacancies during the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Already Trade Union will be on legal duty and will distribute newsletters.

Five electric trios

The diversity party will feature five electric trios parading along Avenida Atlântica.

The march will have "vindication wings", with the "Mothers for Diversity" in the opening section of the Parade, speaking against the Family Statute and showing that family configurations are multiple. The transgender wing will come to demand their rights and gender identity.

At 14pm, the opening trio will transform into a large stage all decorated in white with a show by several artists from the gay scene, presented by Lorna Washington and Magaly, two icons from Rio.

A Black Women's March will participate in the Parade against racism and against the LGBTphobia.

The Banner of the Equality in the Vein Movement proposes the end of restrictions on blood donors considered unfit because of their sexual orientation. The movement questions the criteria adopted for blood donation and Ordinance No. 2712/2013 of the Ministry of Health.
