Paulinho Vilhena gets naked during a play

Cariocas will have good reasons to go to the theater. In addition to seeing a beautiful play, written in 1967 by the Spaniard Fernando Arrabal and now directed by Haroldo Costa Ferrari, “The Architect and the Emperor of Assyria” has in its cast the actor Paulinho Vilhena, who appears completely naked to the audience.

The play, which premieres this Thursday (08/10), at Teatro Leblon, also stars actor Beto Bellini, and tells the story of a meeting between a civilized man, the Emperor, and a primitive man, the Architect (Paulinho Vilhena ), on a desert island.

Paulo Vilhena spends a good part of the play wearing only underwear and knee pads and, at a certain (and good) moment, the actor stands naked in front of the audience. “We have no problems with the body or touch. This piece has no shame, it’s delicious,” Paulinho told Extra.

Because it exposes the body a lot and requires a lot of physical effort, the actors had to prepare. According to Paulinho, “Beto has run 12 kilometers” and he has seven, every day.
