Americans elected a trans state senator for the first time in history. Sarah McBride, from the Democrats, was elected with 86% of the vote in the state of Delaware.

"We did it. We won the general election. Thanks Thanks Thanks. I hope today shows an LGBTQ kid that our democracy is big enough for him too,” Sarah wrote in a Twitter post.
