Last Wednesday (26), the Rio Grande Penitentiary (PERG), located in Rio Grande do Sul, opened the first exclusive cell for LGBT prisoners, with capacity for six inmates.
Everything was possible because of a partnership between the administration and the Special Commission on Sexual Diversity and Gender of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB). According to them, the idea is that LGBT prisoners stop if they suffer abuse and violence inside their cells.
