Character of São Paulo nightlife, Xërxës releases electronic single

Xërxës is already a well-known figure in alternative São Paulo LGBT nights. He appears as a hostess at places like Dynamite Pub and A Lôca, in addition to performing. Now, the young man officially launches himself as a singer.

Xërxës has just released "For Him", his first single. The track was produced by himself, in partnership with Dennis Monteiro – who took care of the programming, keyboards and arrangements of the song.

"For Him" has a lot of Xërxës' personality and musical preferences. Thus, echoes of Madonna from the late 80s and early 90s appear on the track – a time when Madonna got closer to New York's underground gay culture, notably through "Vogue". But "For Him" also has hints of New Order and the Pet Shop Boys – especially the track "I Want a Dog", which the duo released in 1988.

With the release, Xërxës now joins the select gallery of daring Brazilians who dared to produce electronic music in Brazil – facing the prejudice of the public, who often reject such works simply because they are national.

Claudia Wonder, Leandro Cunha and the band Multiplex, No Porn, among others, are examples of artists who – like Xërxës – emerged at night in São Paulo and from there jumped into electronic music production.
