With more than 3.500 likes, the post reveals that the gay community has not learned to set an example

This is not an easy matter to do, there is a certain sadness in the midst of these words, from this journalist who writes to you. But let's go!

To my absolute surprise, I came across an LGBT page that categorically discriminates against the presence of straight people in gay clubs. What do we call ourselves when we treat others exactly the way we don't like to be treated? Revenge? Justice? Reckoning? I call it DUMBLE.

Human beings spend their entire lives complaining about being discriminated against, judged, singled out and instead of setting an example, at the first opportunity they get they reproduce what they have condemned their entire lives. Being historically an oppressed class does not give any right to oppress another class.

We are tired of seeing gays discriminating against straight people who enjoy gay clubs, black people discriminating against white DJs who play Beyonce, feminists complaining about men who defend women. What's your problem? Is the equality discourse only useful when you are in the position of victims?

You more than anyone should know what it's like to feel discriminated against and be the first to be supporters of inclusion.

As a gay man, I am really outraged to see so many gay people practicing prejudice. In the same way that I don't see the humor in a "faggot" joke, I don't see the humor in a joke that excludes straight people. Because it's worth remembering that if a straight guy is at a gay club it's most likely because he sympathizes with the cause and is devoid of prejudice. And what are the geniuses doing?! Precisely discriminating against those who sympathize with our cause.

Understand: IT IS NO FUN TO DISCRIMINATE. From the moment you exclude someone just because they are white, straight or male, you are not differentiating yourself in any way from homophobes, sexists and racists. Someone will say "you are creating a false symmetry", but the truth is that even on different scales, any type of discrimination boils down to prejudice. Even if on a minimal scale like: "Oh, all straight people are pigs and leave the dance floor full of beer bottles", as was also said in the same group.

On behalf of the straight people who defend the LGBT cause, who show their face to defend our cause, I thought it was important to come here today and defend their right to be at LGBT clubs, in the same way that the LGBT community has the right to be at a straight party. .

The aim of this text is not just to defend straight people and their right to come and go. It is to propose a reflection so that we can think together if we are acting the way we would like people to act towards us. After all, it is by showing respect that we will receive, equalizing us will not change the situation in any way.

I end this text with a quote from Paulo Freire, "If education is not liberating, the dream of the oppressed is to be the oppressor".
