Civil Police opens investigation to investigate groups that transmit HIV on purpose

Following the widespread media coverage of a group of men who deliberately transmit HIV, the Civil Police will open an inquiry and carry out investigations to find the suspects and interrogate them.

The Secretary of Public Security, Alexandre de Moraes mobilized the police's internet intelligence area to try to identify the owners of blogs that give tips to infect other people without the victims realizing it.

The Secretary of Justice and Defense and Citizenship, Aloísio de Toledo Cesar stated that the act is "horrifying" and that "it cannot be allowed under any circumstances that people with a low moral level strive to transmit HIV to others."

Chat rooms, websites, blogs, clubs and saunas will be analyzed. "We agree to encourage all actions that can prevent these people from continuing to retransmit the virus in a criminal manner. When the transmission is perfected in this intentional way, the Court's understanding is that the legal figure constitutes an attempted murder, with penalty more serious", he declares.

According to article 130 of the Penal Code, the penalty for anyone who transmits the virus without their partner's consent is up to 4 years in prison.
